The plan

The courage to come back...

The more I think about it

The idea of coming back home

To what I vaguely recall living

Is the saddest thing.

There is no gradual return

And no more apologies

The freaking surprise

Is that there's something concrete

In being permanently depressed.

Some take so long

Rethinking the past

Studying patterns

Formalizing processes

Consuming themselves

For possibilities of some sort of buried intriguing time.

When even the routine

Of a structured ageless comfort

And effects of the sorts

Are appropriately pieced together

I think nothing of it

And concerned with boredom

My hand-warm companion

I am happy to have remembered the redoubts

The helpful amnesia

Of everything that is dead.
