This is a poem I wrote last year about love turned to hate. I hope you enjoy, Rosalie Fay

At first sight, you were a fire

Boldly blazing, drawing me in

I didn't notice the dying embers that lay at your feet

Until I too became one.

And yet you thrived,

feeding off oxygen until I was cold as stone.

But the scars are still there

Burning beneath my frozen skin.

The words still circle my head,

Eat away at me until there is nothing left.

So here I stand, a dying flame,

As you shine brightly as ever, a sparking fire.

And I close my eyes a final time,

Before darkness ensues.

Nicely done! Don't know how this one slipped past me.

Something simple, described beautifully. And undoubtedly relatable. Love your writing!
