The Night

Out of the darkness he appears.

He brings you dreams

He feeds your fears.

When I hear him cry to the moon,

They laugh and assure it’s just the night loon.

He cradles the darkness in the palm of his hand.

He brings silence to all the land.

He creeps to your window when you rest.

He makes sure you sleep your best.

When the sun begins to rise, he is fast in his demise.

He is the night.

When he comes to you,

Do not fright, only delight in the sweet gift of sleep he brings to you tonight.
