Just a basic one-shot for all ages. This will be posted on my quizilla page soon

Third Person’s P.O.V.

The sound of heavy footsteps in the snow was being heard as a wolf walked silently in the middle of nowhere. She was lost, lost because she was looking for something. For days, she hadn’t eaten and for days, she had kept on moving forward. But she found nothing in her path, nothing but the fresh fallen snow. Her strength would soon leave her—she could feel it. Every now and then, she would start limping due to the huge gash in her hind leg. She was careful not put too much pressure on it, so that blood wouldn’t spill and attract predators. Her breath came out as heavy pants as she was too tired to keep moving forward. But for some reason, she couldn’t stop.

You're here, trembling with fear
You made it clear
You turned your back and now you've gone astray
Nothing left to say
What's standing in your way?
You had the chance to never walk alone

Your P.O.V.

I started trembling from the cold air beating against my snow-coated fur, as if trying to separate my soul from my body. I needed shelter. Now. It was too cold to be travelling any further. I had to find food, water and shelter if I wanted to live. I lifted my head in the air and inhaled, trying to catch a scent. Nothing. The cold air made it too hard for me to smell let alone breathe. I looked around me, trying hard to find a nearby cave. My eyes scanned the snowy earth, looking for a cave or den, and then finally, my eyes spotted it. I squinted my eyes, confirming that my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me. I got on all fours, and raced towards it. The snow slowed me down, but eventually, I managed to reach it.

Once I reached about a foot away from the cave, I heard whimpering. My head tilted in curiosity and my eyes glistened in the moonlight. I took a step closer, and the noise of the whimpering grew stronger. I turned my head sideways to look into the curved part of the cave and slightly gasped when a huge figure caught my eyes. It was a wolf, just like me. Its fur was a pure white; the only distinctive of its fur against mine, was this wolf had snow-colored fur whereas mine was moonlight-shaded. Still, it was a beautiful-looking wolf. I stepped closer to it. The sound of my footsteps must’ve woken it up because its head shot up and its golden eyes glared at me. Forcing itself to get on all fours, the wolf towered over me, snarling deeply.

But you gave it all away
When I needed you to stay
Just open up your arms I need you here
I can do this on my own
I got nothing left to show
Open up your arms I need you here!

“Who are you? And what are you doing here?” it growled at me. Its voice was deep, so I knew it was male. Blood dripped from his sides, his legs, and his mouth. If he were to push himself any further…then…

“I won’t hurt you. I just need to find shelter too,” I said in a low voice, walking up to him. He was a good three inches taller than I was, but for some strange reason, I didn’t feel frightened standing by him. His muscles relaxed and he lay back down, head in between his paws.

I lay down beside him and rest my head on his collar. He jumped, slightly surprised at my actions, before letting out a sigh of content, and resting his head down on his paws again. I noticed that he was beginning to drift off, as his eyelids were beginning to close little by little. I felt my eyelids growing heavy too. I snuggled in closer to him for warmth, before falling into a deep sleep.

Again, lying in your bed
Nightmares is in your head
Facing all that you just threw away
At the edge again
It's coming to an end
You had the chance to never walk alone

I woke up to a fluttering of sun’s rays in my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times to regain consciousness. I shook my head and stood up and stretched. My back straightened out and I felt my limbs flexing inside. What happened last night anyway? My head was still in a daze, so my memories were kind of foggy.

“It’s nice to see that you’re finally awake. Did you have a nice rest?” a voice asked. It sounded familiar, but I couldn’t quite recall of who it belonged to.

I looked over to my right to see a young boy, maybe in his 17-18’s, looking over at me. He was seated on the cold ground, leaning against the back of the wall of the cave. He looked almost dead, the way his blue-slated eyes were. I was about to growl when I remembered that wolves could take the form of a human. I had never done it before, meaning that I never really saw it happen before either…

I walked up to him slowly, the pain in my leg still aching. I stretched my neck out towards him and he held up a hand to let me smell. I pressed my nose into the palm of his hand and inhaled. I recognized his scent as the white wolf from yesterday. That same, addicting scent…after all, I really did think that he was…No. I shook the thought out of my head and snorted. Confusion swept across his eyes as he withdrew his hand and rested it back into his lap.

“What’s wrong?” he asked in a dead voice. I shook my large, furry white head.

“Nothing,” I replied. He gave me an unsure look but said nothing more. I crawled over to his side, and lay my head down on his lap. He smiled gently down at me and started stroking my head, to my neck, to my back and back up again. It felt really good against my sore body and I purred in happiness. He chuckled lightly and started scratching the back of my ear. Naturally, I lifted my head up and licked the palm of his hand. But to my surprise, when I did, I saw his wolf form and blushed, as I had licked his mouth. I pulled back abruptly, and looked away.

“Sorry about that…I wasn’t thinking human,” he apologized, getting up. I looked after him, a look of confusion in my eyes. “I should get going,” he said, changing back into a human, “I’m pretty sure my friends are looking for me by now. Thanks for staying with me,” he added, tucking his jacket closer to his body. I just watched him go, not saying anything.

But once he was gone, I lowered my head and positioned my ears flat against my skull. I really did like him…maybe not romantically but still…

But you gave it all away
When I needed you to stay
Just open up your arms I need you here
I can do this on my own
I got nothing left to show
Open up your arms I need you
I need you, here! Here!
I need you, here! Here!

Three hours passed since the white wolf left. I hadn’t moved once from the spot since he left, instead, I just sat there, thinking. Thinking about him. Truthfully, I wanted to forget him, but at the same time, I wanted him here with me. I felt so much more at peace when he was with me because…because for once in my life, I wasn’t alone. And he didn’t neglect me for what I was. My own family had pushed me away, but he didn’t…He was the first to understand me.

My thoughts broke off when I heard voices nearby. I heard several footsteps pound against my ears as they came closer. I backed up against the wall, trying to make myself as small as possible, hoping that they wouldn’t find me. Once they reached the peak of the cave, they spotted me.

“Hey, check it out you guys, it’s him,” a boy with a collar said, pointing at me. “Hey Kiba, you scared us half to death! Now come on, let’s get a move on!” he called, walking up to me. I stopped him dead in his tracks by forcing myself up and growling deeply.

“Hey Kiba…what’s wrong?” he asked, stepping back a step. I didn’t answer him. I just arched my back even more and growled deeper.

“Kiba, what’s gotten into you?” a second voice joined in. But this one was softer…younger.

“That is NOT Kiba,” a deeper voice answered the second voice. Great. There were three of them and one of me. Should I just make a break for it? After all, I was in no condition to fight right now.

“But I can smell it. I’m positive that that’s Kiba’s scent,” the first voice whined. I was confused. Was Kiba that white wolf from this morning? And how did these guys smell him. Could it be that they’re also…

I lifted my nose in the air and took a whiff. Three scents hit my nose and I recognized them as the scents of a wolf, not human. So these guys wore human disguises too then.

“Move,” the third voice ordered strongly, shoving something aside. Probably the youngest of the pack because I heard him grunt.

“Back away!” I hissed dangerously at the approaching stranger. He stopped and I saw his shadow raise its head. But not just any shadow; it was the shadow of a wolf.

“I just want to ask you a question. I don’t want to have to kill you but if you force me to that extent, I won’t hesitate to take you down,” he said coldly. I growled a little but obeyed. I sat down and relaxed my tense muscles to indicate that I was listening.

“Heh, good girl. Now, tell me…I know you saw a white wolf because you smell like him, but what happened to him?” the deep voice growled, taking a step closer.

“He left about three hours ago. I took shelter with him last night,” I answered. I saw the wolf standing before me lower his head while the other two sighed with relief.

“Did he tell you where he went?” it asked me again. I shook my head.

“No, but he did say he was looking for his friends. I suppose he was talking about you guys,” I said, remembering our small conversation last night.

“Must be…Ugh, now we have to go find him…Hige! What’s the weather looking like right now?” he asked the sandy-haired boy who tried to approach me earlier.

“Uh…the storm’s calmed down a bit, but snowflakes are still dropping from the sky. We should be good to travel,” he answered. The eldest one nodded.

“Alright let’s get a move on,” he said, getting up, away from my side and bounding towards the mouth of the cave.

“Wait!” I called after them before they could leave. They all turned to look at me. No one said anything but I knew they were ready to hear me out. “Take me with you.”

You gave it all away
I needed you to stay
Open up your arms I need you

They seemed reluctant to let me join their pack at first but after insisting that I owe their friend that much, they agreed. We introduced ourselves along the way, although we never really did get into conversation. But oh well. Right now, I had to find him. Find Kiba.

A few hours passed us by and then something caught my eye. There was a pile of snow covering something. I ran up to it, shoving the snow aside with my nose and gasped when I uncovered the body. It was Kiba! I whined a bit and nudged his head with my nose but he didn’t budge. His eyes were closed and blood was stained on his white visage. I nudged him again, trying to wake him up. No good. I felt tears coming but forced myself to hold them back.

“Kiba, wake up!” I growled at him, pushing him again. He didn’t respond. I circled him and tried to lift his head with mine. He fell back down motionless. I felt my heart sink and my ears flatten against my skull.

“Kiba…?” I whined. Sounded like I was begging almost.

“No…” Toboe whispered as they all hung their heads.

I lifted my head in the air and howled, soon joined by three other howls. We continued this for about three continuous minutes, I usually taking the lead. After that I lowered my head and lay behind Kiba’s body, resting my head on his neck like they day before. The others did the same; Tsume behind me, Hige on Kiba’s other side and Toboe next to Hige.

We slept for a good half hour when I woke up, as a snowflake had fallen on my eye. It melted and turned into what seemed to be a tear. I wanted Kiba to stay with me. Forever. Share a life with him…but it was too late…because he was…

Little did I notice that my head was resting in snow right now. When I looked up, I noticed that Kiba’s body was gone. But how? I was about to look around before I heard a voice.

“You’re such a heavy sleeper…” a soft, warm voice said. My head snapped up and I turned around to see the white wolf. His eyes were halfway open and his mouth was hanging slightly.

“Kiba…I don’t believe it….Kiba!” I cried, tackling him to the ground and licking his collar. I felt my tail wagging in pure joy as he playfully pinned me down and started nuzzling my neck.

“Hey, how come Kiba gets all the luck?” I heard Hige complain. We turned over to see the others getting up: Hige with a somewhat grumpy face, Toboe smiling happily, and Tsume pretending that nothing was happening.

“Hey guys,” Kiba said, changing back into a human, and walking up to them.

“You scared us half to death out there, Kiba! All you can say is ‘hey guys?’ Really?” Hige yelled, shaking his fist angrily.

“Sorry about that,” Kiba smiled, half-jokingly. I couldn’t help but smile too and sat down, curving my tail around my body.

“Oh! Honoka!” Toboe called. I tilted my head and started panting. Kiba turned around and looked at me.

“So your name’s Honoka?” he asked, half-smiling. I nodded. Toboe muttered something to Kiba and he nodded.

“Honoka?” he asked in that strong voice of his, turning around completely to look at me.

“Yes?” I asked, walking up to him. He was now in his wolf form, the same went for everyone else.

“Will you help us find Paradise?” Kiba asked, resting his head on my shoulder. I closed my eyes and did the same to him.

“Paradise?” I asked. I felt him nod. “Of course.”

Kiba pulled back and we stood hand-in-hand, the wind blowing the hair out of our eyes.

I can do this on my own
I got nothing left to show
Open up your arms I need you here
But you gave it all away
When I needed you to stay
Just open up your arms I need you here
I can do this on my own
I got nothing left to show
Open up your arms I need you here!

Hey, nice read! I recently wrote a wolf's rain poem, and it would be nice if you decided to read it. Contains spoilers though.

In my opinion, you should write a novel that's kinda like the sequel to this.
