I was just passing through
Until my heart called me toward a certain bar
Where I had no idea of what or who awaited me
And when I went in I didn’t notice anything special

I just sat down at the counter
And that was when I saw someone
Someone so very gorgeous
But it was someone I knew

She was drinking so much
That I knew something was wrong with her
And that meant I came in for a purpose
I had to help her

I went over to her
But she didn’t notice me
I tried to introduce myself
To see if she remembered me

But she was too drunk to remember
So I decided to stay with her
I couldn’t let anything happen to her
And she didn’t seem to mind my presence

The night went on
Until it was pushed away by first light
But by then she was already asleep

I stayed right there with her in that booth
