This was a poem I wrote for my World History class last year. It stressed me out to write it but I'm pretty proud of it how it turned out. Hope you all enjoy it!

"Demons Disguised As Soldiers"

Time and time again I find myself here
Why must the war go on?
Is God near?

Let me speak to him, for I have questions
People perish before me every day

I am a lowly witness of Death's handiwork
It causes me great dismay

Why, God?
Men risking their lives every day in the trenches
Shot down, their bodies twisting and turning like wrenches
Demons disguised as soldiers, taking their opponents out
With reckless abandon, one by one

Their fierce yet anguished cries are heard all throughout
Acting as a warning to all who try to stop them
The only thing that keeps them going is their families
And the thought of freedom

The lord looks down at them, whispering words of hope
"Do not fret;
The war will be over soon."
