They left

only when

their bellies

were full...

they left

did not stop

nor turn their heads...

no wave goodbye

a love their lie

killing the flame

for light to die

The came

they took

they grabbed

it all...

forgetting to breathe

until I did call...

they carried much

returned for more

they brought an axe

chopped down my door...

They are here

again and again

they are beasts

formed into men...

their cries are purged

to indigent ears

their greed manifesting

encompassing fears...

The vultures have feasted

there's nothing left

 they laughed as I

shook and wept
