Love, you’re an alibi.

Where the street signs black out their names
And the buildings give up their shapes,
I have not been there. Not once.
I was here, with you, wrapped up in your limbs

And swallowing smile after smile.
I tore off your petals and traced a route
On the map of your back.
Sidewalks tell other stories.

Love, you must be silent.
