A little bunny that popped into my head about sisterly love. Before you ask, this is not my sister, but that of a close friend.

O Sister

Hey sister, remember when you and I,
Giggled over the cute boys in class?
We told each other everything?
Hey sister, remember when,
Life was worth living?

When I heard the phone,
That stormy night.
I thought it was you,
I knew it was you.

What I didn’t know was that,
I would never see you smile.
Never hear you laugh.
Never comfort you when you cry,
And never see you again.

The voice on the end of the line
Was so unlike yours,
But in my heart
I still knew it was you

The man said that it was over
That your life had gone
Some guy had hit you
When he had tried to run
And you never saw it coming

You may have died that night,
Sister, but I still heard your voice.
Telling me that everything was okay
And it didn’t hurt at all.

Hey sister, remember when you and I,
Dreamt unlived dreams?
Were together through thick and thin?
Hey sister, remember when
Everything was like it was before the angel came?

Because I do and I will never forget.
I love you sister, and I always will.
