Once
One day, you will wake up,
and I won't be there.
One day, God will call me to heaven,
and I won't be there.
One day, our children will grow old enough
that we won't have to worry about them,
and I won't be there.
One day you will be so sad, your heart aches,
and I won't be there.
One day, the kids will ask, "How's Dad?"
and I won't be there.
One day, you'lll see a book on a hilltop,
and I won't be there.
One day, you'll clutch my picture with sadness,
and I will not be there.
One day, you'll come home to heaven
and we'll be there,
together.
