It’s been dark for a while now,

I’d find the light if i knew how,

Getting out of bed gets harder every day,

Harder to focus… Easier to dull my gaze,

Thoughts and memories clouded in the murk,

Blame me if you must, i’m trying to make this work,

I sometimes see light at the end of the tunnel,

I run as fast as i can, your words feeding me like a funnel,

Without you i could run forever and never find peace,

My life isn’t whole, you’re my missing piece,

When you’re gone I feel so alone,

My blood dries and my skin turns to bone,

It is not the end, it’s a new beginning,

I will be happy with myself and calm my mind’s spinning,

I will walk tall and take my heart off the shelf,

I can’t love another if i don’t love myself,

I won’t wake up, i refuse to believe this is a dream,

I know now life is not as it seems.
