Lonely Sunday

I'm walking alone in a late Sunday afternoon.
The rain makes music on my umbrella and my steps are the metronome of my thoughts.
I watch the leafs giving up their hold from the trees, flying hopelessly on the ground.
I stop and close my eyes.
My heart is pounding and my soul is empty.
I wish I could let go everything like those autumnal leaves just did.
I keep listening to the nature's concert for a while, but I can feel the raindrops passing through my veins and wetting my cheeks now.
I open my eyes, take a deep breath and start to walk back home.
Maybe one day I'll be like one of those leaves, and maybe, just maybe, someone will be there to catch me.

Oh my. Wonderful and somewhat austere at the same time. Well done!
