My smile and my clothing are the same in nature.

I wear my smile as I do my clothes

They are both necessary to survive in society

Yet they are surficial

Neither comes from my heart,

From my mind

Or from my soul.

They were manifested in the outside world

It is there I must live

And appear to be normal

So it is them I use

To make it through my day without suspicion

Before I come home

My clothes are easily removable

Nature did not intend us to wear them;

Primordial beings did not

Animals live without the unnecessary cloth

Thus is the unnaturalness of my smile

It’s a show

A velvet curtain on the stage

Carefully concealing the chaos

That lies

Just behind.
