My children are a part of me not people i met out on the street thats what we forget i never bought my children i never sold my children yet since there mother left me to be with another man i have had to pay in so many ways it is as close to loosing a loved one without them actually being dead. this is for all the single dads who have been unfairly dealt with by the system

The morning sun

Breaks through the rainy clouds

For a moment

It appears the day will be fine

A slight breeze and the sound of birds

Singing in time

Yet I know this moment wont last

Two weeks vacation

Oh how the time seems to pass

One day you're happy

But it goes so fast

The sound of children

The sound of silence

In all good things

There has to be a balance

The smell of coffee

And a thousand thoughts become none

Trying to be a good role model

With all you've been taught

The morning sun soon disappears

The breeze picks up

And the rain is here

The coffee goes cold

And a thousand thoughts become none

There's a kind of stillness

As I become one

The sound of children

Is overcome with silence

In a head full

Of mixed emotions and violence

Constantly battling to fit in

Somewhere to belong

If one is to criticise himself

Is that wrong

Or is that my inner voice

That helps me to be strong

I look in the mirror

And sometimes I see

What the rest of the world

See's in me

The morning sun

Trapped behind rainy clouds

Aching to be free.
