Sometimes it's the simple things in life that help me have a better appreciation for life in general.

A bottle sits half full

On an unused bench

Cobwebs in the archways

Musty smells

With a touch of stale stench

Dust has settled in for good

Termites have eaten

Through most of the wood

Half pulled blinds

Let in the morning sun

Streams of light

Gives the old house

Some character and charm

Bent up iron

With weather beaten walls

Surrounded by

Unmowed lawns

And a chimney

That's ready to fall

Houses a nest

With new born babies

Which over looks

Broken down fences

And the neighbours
