he moves the earth under his feet.
Poem by: rustyfootprints88
he moves the earth under his feet then he looks up and he say's to me for fifty thousand years my people have walked this earth and in two hundred years we have almost lost our worth white man came and spoke out loud the importance to him is how much wealth we don't have new homes or fancy cars no designer clothes or crumbs in jars but what he did have he shared with me as he points to the sky and moves the earth beneath his feet wealth comes in many ways he lives in the bronx where sstray dogs play the shine in his eyes inspired me the colour of my skin he did not see we met one morning down by the sea and just like that he welcolmed me he asked me where i lived as i pointed up to my tent on the top of the cliff he said you can not stay there come stay at my house we have the room to spare when i got to his home i was very over whelmend there where wrecked cars and rubbish and broken glass over the ground when he said he lived in the bronx he was telling the truth that was what was this was his people came and his people went i showed them nothing except my full respect i was shown and told things that have helped me understand that wealth comes in many ways and all colours of the skin i did let him know that i have no culture not like him he sat and he listened i said to him people ask me where i'm from as there is no place i truly belong but if i was asian indian or black people wouldn't have to ask me that and then that's when he proved to me while he pointed to the sky and moved the ground beneath his feet that it does not matter what colour or creed we are all somewhere in between we are now close friends for the rest of our lives he opened his home and shared with me his time i still don't have any dollars and not much cents but i have returned a much wealthier man than when i went as he looks to the sky and moves the earth beneath his feet a man who appears to to have nothing shared his world with me .phill and abba kelly broome australia .
