                                                    SHATTERED

When I entered the emergency room, the doctor pulled me to the side. It was then I was

Told that my son was not going to make it.  My son had been shot in the temple  with

a twenty two pistol.  The bullet fragments had also moved around hitting a vital part of

the neck which controlled his breathing.

My son was brain dead. I had to stomach all this.  I was in disbelief.   I then went to the

area where he was laying.  It was hard to see him lying there, and there wasn’t anything

I could do. A nurse walked into the room where my son was. In trying to comfort me, she

touched me on my shoulder. The nurse stated “Go ahead. You can touch him and talk to

him.” My Lord, what could I do?   My world had been shattered! Now I had to pick up

the pieces.
