The Enigmatic Cave

It was a heinous and violently stormy night as the man ran into the cave to safeguard himself from the demoniac rain. He was now in a deep shadowy cave trying to find a way out of the jungle ironically in which he first arrived to escape the city life. Walking deeper in the dark gloomy cave with only a lighter for his source of light, he noticed that the ground was getting softer. Suddenly he falls through the ground breaking through two subterranean floors, now fifty feet below the ground and with a dislocated arm. He pops his arm back into place, the pain excruciating and enough to cause him to black out.

When he wakes up he realizes that he has fallen through the floors into an underground ancient complex. The most shocking fact was that the complex was completely covered in gold. The complex was decorated with precious stones lined along wall texts and as well as immense statues. The man suddenly realizes that the statues are all ancient deities, more specifically deities which are chief of their pantheon. The deities included Zeus from Greece, Ra from Egypt, Quetzalcoatl from Mesoamerica, and Zhao Gongming from ancient China.

The man was shocked to see four different deities from four different regions of the world standing in the center circling a strange figure. As the man started to walk closer to the statues of the deities to examine the strange figure he noticed the entire complex was filled with light, where the light source was coming from was a complete mystery to the man. As he approached the strange figure it slowly started to resemble a pedestal with a large diamond like object on top. As the man touched the object his hand shockingly went through the object as if it was thin air. He immediately jerked his hand out of the object, when he retrieved his hand it felt like ice.

Suddenly he noticed that inside the object was a shiny spark, he then realized that the spark was the source of the light in the underground complex. The man overcame with curiosity grabs the spark inside the object. All of a sudden the platform with the pedestal starts to move downward like an elevator into lower levels of the complex with the man standing on it. As he moves down he notices that the walls around him are decorated with pictures and ancient texts. He starts to realize that these pictures and texts are depicting some kind of ancient historical narrative.

The platform finally stops and the man is taken to a giant room where everything is made out of a strange metallic material. Finding himself in this room he is both shocked and amazed at the presence of advanced mechanization. The entire room is covered in a blue aurora, while there are four large stations each with the same mysterious spark inside them. Even stranger each station has a picture of a different chief deity on top of them. The man suddenly realizes what the pictures are depicting.

The man deduces that the pictures and texts illustrate a world were ancient non-terrestrial bipeds came from the skies to earth, and this must be their last remnants. The man suddenly runs toward one of the stations and overwhelmed with curiosity grabs the spark. Suddenly he procures a vision of an ancient earth, where hominids are still in their early stages of evolution. He sees in his vision four groups of people arriving in vessels from the sky. All coming to colonize earth after their own planets were destroyed from overharvesting their planets resources.

The four groups came for the same reason, but fought over who should rule earth and who should be eradicated.  Fighting lasted for eons leading the four groups to the verge of extinction, finally when only one member from each group remained they created an alliance. They built this complex to record their history and to show Homo sapiens what the consequences of war and exploitation of nature can lead to. Eventually the members of the four groups died, but their buildings remained. When hominids evolved into Homo sapiens they used the alien buildings as a basis for their own civilization, but never discovering this underground complex.

The four ancient deities were actually the four remaining members of the four groups, who were mistaken for deities by the Homo sapiens. The man suddenly broke from his vision and realized the he had to tell the world of this place. The man went up the platform, which he came from and scaled the walls which he fell out of. Just as he was about to reach the cave entrance the ceiling of the cave collapses on itself. On impact the man was crushed by the weight of the cave ceiling, killing him immediately and burying any chance for human beings to know the truth and the consequence of their actions.
