I wait...
for your embraces
your gentle kisses
your playful glances
that reassure me
that i am your only
loved, cared for,
free to be who
i was created to be

yet i lie in fear
fear you won't love me
that you will reject me
that another better
may steal your heart away

that one day i may no longer be
good enough

may no longer be the one
who feeds your heart
your longings
your mind
your deepest desires

i hold on and pray
that it will always be
this way
me, your starlight
you, my shining knight

don't lock me out
of the innermost chambers of your heart
don't let me lose
your trust, your love,
your embrace

even as i battle
my own insecurities
you cannot define me
but without you
i will forever be
the worst half of me

please don't leave...
