Love is the most overused word in the world and in this poem it's just a communication of my feelings on that.

the "L word"

Some say love is like fire,

It overwhelms the heart with feelings,

Feelings as hot as lava but as smooth as silk,

They say love is unlike anything else.

Some say love is like ice,

So cold and cruel from one person to another,

That love is painful and no good comes from it,

They say love is for naive people.

Love is supposed to change the heart,

The mind, and the lives of people,

But the word love is carelessly thrown about,

Everyone wants to be loved in one way or another,

Some will us sex as a form of it,

Without emotions behind it sex is pointless,

That sort of intimacy is only meant,

For two people who care about each other,

I mean really can’t live without each other.
