Please master! Don't throw me in the ring! I can be good, I'll do whatever you want just don't let them kill me!

"You better win you useless mutt."

My master forced me into the ring with the end of his boot. My hind legs held my shivering tail in its embrace. There are two other dogs in the ring with me. The blind pitbull sniffed for shelter like a cowardice. And a great dane willing to kill. Both were completely against me. Why was this happening to me!? Teeth missing from constant abuse shone in the eerie darkness. I'm scared! I look for reassurance but instead my master cheers for a good fight. Am I supposed to fight them? That's insane!

I run to the door, crazed with worry as I claw at the door frantically. They can't do this, I don't deserve this! Please master, I'm scared! I'll be a good boy, I'll do whatever you want just don't let them kill me! Growls close in on me at an alarming pace. Why won't you save me master? What did I even do to deserve this!?

"Please I don't want to die."

"My eyes, everything's black, I just want to go home."

"Please, anyone, just save us!"

The great dane limps towards me with bits and pieces of his refined fur missing. The blind pit's face, once beautiful now an unsightly mess, snaps her jaws at me with the intent to kill. My back is against the wall as they commence their merciless assault. Blood slithers from my ear ear as the humans roar with excitement, including my master. The great dane's violent fangs sink into my neck, stealing my vision. I yank and I tug as his fangs sink deeper into my flesh. I can feel my life oozing from his jaws.

Gas fills the air in an eye, reminding me that I'm still alive. Clattering feet thunders through my head as the humans scream in pure horror. A woman approaches me as wrath swirls within my soul. I HATE YOU HUMANS! I keep asking myself what I did to deserve this bit there's nothing, I did NOTHING! My eyes focused on the woman prying the great dane's jaws open, freeing me from my prison.

"Break it up!"

The woman dismissed her team as the two dogs kneeled before her. I will not bend to another human's will!

"Please my eyes, they burn."

"I'm tired of fighting!"

"Please save us!"

Before I knew it, I snapped. My fangs bore into her hand like a mad beast.

"Don't fall for her tricks. She's just the same as those HUMANS!"

The woman smiled softly.

"I don't want a human!"

"I know honey."

"You'll abandon me like HE did!"

"I won't."

"YOU'RE LYING!"

The woman kept her cool even as she bled from her hand. She's lying! She'll toss me aside once I'm useless! She's just like the rest!

"You'll kill me!"

"I won't."

"YOU'RE LYING!"

"I'm not."

My jaws released her hand. My body began to tremble as I backed away. S-She's lying!

"I'm not."

The woman's hand trembled while she smiled. S-She's... I... My body moved on its own, I began licking her wound.

"I'm sorry."

"I know."

"How can you understand me?"

"Because I used to be just like you."

The woman took me into her arms, her embrace warm and inviting. She walked towards her van with the blind pit beside her and the great dane limping behind her.

Will this human abandon me like my master?

It's cool, but if you dont mind me (I can be a little picky bc I love to edit stuff) why not try to break things up some more? More spacing and such? Also maybe describe how people look and the colour wounds. They help make the story some to life. Maybeeeeeeeeeee a better background so that we can get a better grip of the story? :) But nice beginning never the less! Maybe wanna try reading my first ever short story? please? :) (hopeful smile?)

The poor dog! I feel compassion for the dog since his master is making him fight against a pit bull and a great dane. I like at how the end, the woman embraces the dog and lets him come with her:) I like stories with happy endings, and this is one of them. Hopefully, the woman will NOT abandon him like his master did. Thanks for sharing, Sai:)

Pretty intense, I like it. I like that you didn't focus on the visuals and instead put more emphasis on internal conflict and dialog. Personally I really like how you left the ending ambiguous. Nice read :)

Miss Melodramatic

This is a really unique story! I like how you conveyed the dog's feelings and the description of the scene was very vivid. I'm glad it had a happy ending. Glad I read this :)

I felt that they way you wrote this in a first person perspective drew an even wider matter into focus. Why make animals fight to the death? A life is a life, even if it cant process planning like humans they still feel. I really like that the ending is a happier ending. Keep up the good work. :)

I like the way you expressed dog's internal emotions. People tend to forget that animals are living beings and they can feel the pain the same way as we do. Good work.
