This poem is about my brother, who died as a newborn baby long before I was born. The pain my mother felt, and the heartache of losing my mum too.

You were just a baby, so innocent and pure. God took you back just as you were born, There's no way to know why it happened that way, I know that our mum would have done anything for you to stay.

I wasn't born, we never met, But you're still my brother, I shall never forget. I've cried tears for you, the brother I never met, But we shared the most amazing bond of all, Our mum, a woman who shone like the sun.

Sadly, she too was taken away, But I love her and miss her every single day. I'd give anything to bring her back here to me, But that's selfish, it was not to be.

Because now, after all of this time, She can finally hold you, her baby, her first. You are both angels now, way up in the sky, Watching over us, and helping us to get by.

Our mum held our hands, cuddled us tight, Played with our hair, tucked us in at night. She would kiss us on the cheek, wipe away our tears. She was born to be a mum, and she was for many years,

I can't promise to ever fully let her go, Just as she never could with you, But it's comforting to know that she has love up there too.
