What I Love:

The whisper of the wind as it washes through the trees,

The crackle of the gravel as a car is rushing by,

The rustle of the river as it gushes over stones,

The flicker of a cowtail as the flies start to bite,

The gliding of the wings as a hawk stalks its prey,

The switching of a page as the book is being read,

The patter of the rain as a storm is coming near,

and The burning of the heart as it is being embraced.

What I Hate:

The scratching of scant branch on scant branch,

The howl of the tires as a car is veering,

The thunder of the river as it crumples homes,

The murmer of the flies as a body molders,

The slither of the wings as a plane is deviating,

The glimmer of the blaze as the stories fade,

The pounding of the wind as the storm eddies,

and The burning of the heart as it is being dismissed.
