I can no longer deny that the oaks at my feet

refresh a memory of something, unseen

My weary eyes gaze past blue sky and white clouds

back to someone

These nights in ash forests call to me

Is this, where my soul comes to cry?

Away from prying eyes?

Here my weary eyes, for a moment, are open

and I weep away all

For man is a creature of movement;

forced, unapologetic, evolution

And I?

I am not a refuter of sinning,

For my abundant indulgence fills a void of soul

Trees no longer cover me from rain

Rivers no longer drift me away

Dirt has yet to touch my smooth feet

Stones do not know of my prayers

So i weep here

Where god will hear me

From within the trees
