And so I sit inside the darkness

The black night suffocates my essence

Drowning in pain

The sorrows of youth

Ideal, lined with good intentions

Reality shattering and tainting the memories

And so I sit inside the darkness

Innocence corrupted with experience

Shackled in the chains of the future

Swallowed in the vortex of days long ago

The present combusting with the volatile imprisonment

Waiting for the light….

Waiting for peace…

Waiting for the fire within to be calmed with Your touch, oh Lord

What else can one say when such things come to pass?

What else can one do when the most logical of conclusions collides with the most powerful of emotions?

And so I sit inside the darkness

Knowing what truth is not

Negating until truth is shown

Opening my eyes so that I finally see

The only one sitting in the room is me.
