Sometimes I’ve only got one word
A single word to ask myself
To you it might seem quite absurd
That I would talk to no one else

But I can’t speak and I can’t tell
One must seek to break my shell
I may be weak, but I wont sell
My smiling cheek can hide my hell

The only word I say is why
A mumble soft, a whispered tone
Why do I stay here as I die?
I ask only when I’m alone

But I can’t speak and I can’t know
I must seek to break the flow
When I’m weak, I still wont go
A smiling cheek, I’ll always show

There is nothing for me here
Love and joy deprive my heart
My tears are dry but not my fear
What happened to our loving start?

But no one speaks and I can’t see
The more I seek to break out, free
I’m too weak, you wont help me
My smiling cheek still pays this fee
