Two big pools swell and overflow

Two salty meandering streams are born

And trickle down two rosy hillsides

Sadness, emptiness feeds the streams

Two salty streams evolve and grow

Now two gushing rivers flow

Powered by anger, confusion

Why did you have to go?

Ever downwards running

Leaving red tell tale trails

Letting everyone know my pain

The rivers reach the cliff edge

They linger, growing still

Another heavy sigh pushes them over

Forming raindrops as they fall

Your hardwood plaque becomes a landing pad

The emotional shower splashes

As the tears crash down

Tears of love and memories create hope for new life

As they water the hard, dry earth

And water your tree as they seep to its roots

As each tear fell these words grew in their place

Giving me strength, courage to move on

Knowing you are with me

And so I sat and cried

And watched the sun fade

As I knelt by your grave.
