I had no idea what made me write this. But one evening i just couldn't get this title out my head along with an image of a woman laying in a hospital bed with her hand stretched out. And so, i just had to write.

Just hold my hand

As I lay here.

Dying.

Pale

Fragile

Weak.

My life

just draining away

See my soul

Drain

 From my eyes.

Once bright

 Dazzling,

They sparkled as I smiled.

But now

Dull

 Lifeless

Empty.

Just hold me a few minutes more,

Don't let me die alone,

Let me know

 I was loved.

I'm cold.

Wrap your arms around me.

That should ease the pain.

I'm feeling tired now,

My eyelids are growing so heavy.

Tell me what to do,

Do I risk closing my eyes?

What if I don't wake up?

I can't fight anymore

I'm sorry.

I have to go now.

You know I love you

Don't you.

Please

Don't cry

Just remember the good times we had.

It's time.

Watching you from above

Still holding me.

I said don't cry.

I know

You can't help it.

It's ok.

The nurse comes in to comfort you,

I know it won't help.

I wish I could hold you

As you held me.

I want to stay and watch you forever

But I can't.

I can hear a soft voice.

 calling me.

Whispering my name.

Everything is fading now

I strain my eyes to see you

Just a second longer.

It's no use.

I'm gone.
