The habits are making me feel lost and down

Finding it hard to put the bottle and drugs down

I’ve got dropped in the dark spiral, the substance

Abuse lifestyle.

I got dreams I want to accomplish but these drugs

Are turning them into rubbish.

My habits are getting worse when I don’t have

Them I always curse. I get the sweats and anxiety

I forget the meaning of sobriety.

One night I was lying in bed on drugs and off my head

I fell asleep and had a dream,

I saw myself in a mirror or damaged

And unclean to the right I saw a figure very lightly shaded

Looked like a moving picture.

She said in a beautiful voice “you have to choose your path”

I suddenly awoke I had a coughing fit

felt like I was about to choke.

I went outside to check the mail there was a

Leaflet at the door all white and frail.

The church always sends us stuff in the mail,

it makes me laugh

I turn the leaflet over and it says “choose your path”
