Muskaan and Siddharth, two lovers, one love, one aim...bt will they finally be theirs...FOREVER??

Remains a question...

Still I sit in an empty corner of my heart,

In search of love,

Which I had never had…

Lifeless body of Muskaan, laid on the road, infront of me, as a red stream flowed out from her body…leaving behind a trail of smoke arising from my gun and yes I confessed, “My love, I am sorry”…

I am Siddharth, a student of Harvard University. I love to find enjoyable thoughts in a simple phase called life. But life is a gambler indeed. It tossed me up and threw me before the puppeteer called “time”.

“Mother, what is love?” popped a question in my mind and I enacted it out. Mother, shocked, stood still. After a few minutes, she replied, “At certain points of time, to beautify life and to enrich it, the Almighty sends certain angels to your life and that instance when you meet them, is known as, love.” After hearing this, I was amazed, and eagerly waited for that right hour.

It was a lovely autumn morning, when I was walking to my college and infront of the gate, I saw Muskaan; yes, she was my dream girl and the most famous girl in our college. But I was afraid to express my emotions.

“You are Siddharth, right?”, “Hi, I am Muskaan, can you come-by for a moment.” Amazed with this request, I went with her. After walking with her for a few metres, she suddenly turned towards me and said “I love you”…I was shocked, surprised and moreover very happy. With a solemn smile I confirmed her request and finally found my instance called “love”.

That night as I sat beside my mother, I told her everything. Excitedly, she pounced upon me with a series of questions. But problem struck on the topic named “religion”. She was a Muslim and I was a Hindu. Maybe we were very far from our motherland, but our basic instincts were still very strong. With depression in sight, she nodded to my love “Muskaan”, negatively…

Days passed by, and this depression grew into anger and hatred towards Muskaan, from my mother. Finally, she asked me to make a decision “Me or Muskaan?”…. I was shattered, completely broken, my heart was broken into bits and pieces and I was left for dead; for the sake of love…

After some days, an incident changed my life, my mother handed me a gun and said “Go and finish this chapter…forever” I was shocked, but in this lone world my mother had been my prime support followed by Muskaan. So I took the gun and approached the door and turned back…

“Mother, thank you for your support, I am an absolute nothing without you and do remember always, I love you” after saying this, I shot my mother and stood still as tears rolled down my face, motionlessly.

“Muskaan, meet me infront of our college within ten minutes, it’s urgent, I will be waiting”….

I stood infront of the college, and saw Muskaan approaching me. I lifted my gun, took my aim, and pressed the trigger…for a moment there was a loud bang, followed by the silence of death. As I approached her a red stream flowed out from her body and I just said “Muskaan, I love you, but mankind failed to understand it, and I was left with no choice but to sacrifice my love for you and mother. I am sorry.”

As soon as I turned back a car came thrashing upon me and I pounced upon the road…within a few moments, the driver approached me. I saw him but still tears rolled down my face, and I stated my last words in search of insanity with innocence…

Still I sit in an empty corner of my heart,

In search of love,

Which I had never had…

Maybe wise men said it right:

“Love is not a disease, it’s just the start of an unending cure”
