Some people are broken off so severely it's impossible or so to put them back it seems.

I don't know how to get you out from under.
You're locked away and thrown away the key.

Sitting in a basement below the stairway,
dusting off the cobwebs of a midnight summer's dream.
It's dark and dank and musty in the cellar.
The little boy is huddled, shaking by the door.
With only his own arms for his protection,
he wraps them across his chest to keep what's inside
inside even more.
I can see him scared, crying and lonely.
I can see him through the splinters in the door.
I try to reach out to him but he is crumbled.
He's a cookie scattered all over the floor.
I fear I can not step for there are pieces broken off
from what was there before.
If I step I may further crumble what's left
and break it down some more.
I try to sweep it up but it's mixed in with the dust,
sediments of ages long ago.
What now of the child? I see him hunger.
But too proud to take partake.
Anthing I have to offer for his sake
shall never fully be explored.
