~~Are your dream forevermore
only washed up on the shore?
Like some broken shards of shell,
embedded in grains of sand
that the hungry sea can't quell?
In the darkness and its depth
did you long for your last breath?
Crying crystal tears of  brine
bluer than a widows walk,
overflowing like sparkling wine.
And the mystery of it all
is when you got caught up in the squall.
You rose among the crashing waves
briskly as the blowing wind
running into silent, hidden caves.
Lying low in the trough
the storm now is tapering off.
But the only words to hear
are your own resounding echoes
'til they slowly disappear.
