There is only so far you can go to help someone without hurting yourself, and once that happens it's time to GET OUT!

There is only so far you can go to help someone without hurting yourself, and once that happens it's time to GET OUT!

You reached out to me as you were drowning,
sinking low in quicksand.
I wasn't aware of my surroundings
when I reached out to lend you a hand.

How did I get so encouraged
when you were sucked far deep in your sin?
I had the courage but you got discouraged
and desperately tried to pull me in!

Didin't I valiantly try to help you?
Why did you insist on pulling me down?
Now the right thing to do is to let go of you.
Because I myself, don't want to drown!

I got out just in time to wipe off your grime.
I'm sorry if you don't understand.
But there are those out there that say it's a a crime
for me to even lend you a hand!
