You lay softly sweet, in honey reverie
Whispering words of golden memory

Peaceful as a trickling stream
Chasing an elusive dream

So ensconced in your sleep
Furtively I catch a peep
As I gently hold your hand
You wander into another land

Shamelessly you pull me in
Wearing an impish child-like grin
Softly as you lay
You're  floating worlds away

Never say mortals shan't  fly
Dreams magically morph you, butterfly
Stars are warm shimmering, candles lit
Weightless, as you skim and flit

Shh, don't you come back down
You're too high up off the ground
Running fields of twisted maze
In a stupor, drunken kind of daze

Fluttering eyelashes, waking up
Unsteady as a new born pup
Wobbling like a wet, soft noodle
Cute as a curly, pearly poodle
