I saw the face of death.
It was a bloated out hollow.

with sunken eyes and wispy breath
that was painful on each swallow.
It was skeletal, falling down week,
for it could not even stand.
Reaching out, what did it seek?
Maybe someone to hold its hand.
So bare to the bone
no more growth, not a single follicle.
It must depart this earth alone.
Its suffering was diaboloical!
It was as cold as an ocean stone.
and yearned for peace, its final rest.
I had to release it, let it alone,
and watch the final fall of its chest.
Everything it left behind
was basked in tears of sorrow.
But the memories its love will bind
when it no longer has a tomorrow.
