You can empathize with someone else when you see them in yourself.

How can I look  at you
with such damnation?

I myself, have so many limitations.
I never claimed to know the answers.
Inside we're harboring a type of cancer.

When I look at you
it's as if I'm looking in a mirror.
And when I look at you
I can see myself much clearer.
Yah, I'm still reeling
but I can empathize with the feeling.

Didn't I look at you
and see hell in motion?
We were drowning in a sea of devotion,
only to get our heads above the water.
We were bloodied by the slaughter.

But we kept pulling each other under.
Until we broke above the clouds
we could never hear the thunder.
Then we ran for cover.
And this I discovered........

When I look at you
it's as if I'm looking in a mirror.
And when I look at you
I can see myself much clearer.
Yah, I'm still reeling
but I can empathize with the feeling
