Today was my first time.
I was wholly absorbed
in love.
It was washing all over
my body.
I was paralyzed in it.
Wanted so badly
to reach out toward it.
But it held me there,
with its tenacious grip.
It's not as if it was
holding me off.
And I know it wasn't
holding me down.
But when love stikes,
it strikes deep
and so profound.
It muffles our voices
and shuts out all sound.
I didn't know where we were.
Couldn't see the room.
I'd have to say my love,
we were both inside
the mother's womb!
There's nothing for us
at this point to do
but listen with our hearts,
because our minds have
not a clue.
That's what happens
when love takes over you!
