There's sadness as the cold sets in. It's all from the remembering.

Sleepy, droopy, stained glass eyes
Winter's revealing its disguise

Covered in a shroud of fallen snow
Birds are gone
So too, their sweet song
Dark creeps, stealthly tin soldiers in
How doleful and fearful things have been
When night befallens the day
There's less you have to waste away
Now you shan't pick or prune
How you long for the warmth of June
Just a desolate frozen hard, ground of stone
Cold whips hard, won't leave you alone
Once was tender, droplets of morning dew
Icicles formed as golden, crimson leaves blew
The trees stark naked, bare and stiff
Lost their offerings bear no gift
Ensconced in your lonely room
Looking out the windows of yesterday
When your life was in full bloom.
