i’m stuck where it’s cold, so, so cold. and i know you’ll never be there to keep me warm. it’s lonesome and painful, seeing you standing over there, flirting with him while i’m over here, wishing it was me. but you don’t see the pain on my face. you don’t notice the longing in my eyes, as you flutter past me to your friends. someone tells a joke so you laugh, and a ghost of a smile twitches across my lips. it seems i never smile anymore. only you can bring that rare grin, only you can warm the cold that surrounds me. but of course, you don’t notice. you never notice me. i’m just the freshman girl. the one who sings, the one with the blue, boyish haircut. the one who likes you, but you don’t know it. the one who envies the boys you’ve kissed, dated. i’m just that one, stuck where it’s dark, longing for someone to keep me safe. stuck where it’s unforgiving, yearning for the comfort of a loved one. stuck where it’s cold, so, so cold. ~saorai
