I knew. Before she even stepped on the field I knew. I recognized the girl; something about number 10 had bothered me since I got there. Then when she faced me, when I saw the grin and eyes I’d spent the last three years looking for as my guide, I knew. And she knew. She knew I’d promised to be here, she knew I kept my promises. And so when I stepped over, when my team had won the game 3-0 even though I’d begged for just one goal for her, she smiled. It made my day, but it hurt. God how I’d missed that smile. And when she smiled it at me, I broke. I missed everyone so much that when I got to see the one person I loved like a family member and I learned that I wouldn’t see her again for quite some time, I just broke. I at least had the good fortune to get a hug before my one best friend disappeared. And now I am alone. Weeping for my losses, I am alone. She has disappeared. She is gone. And I know I will never see her again.

If you know whom this is, tell me. And please, tell me she’s not gone forever. For my sister has left me.

I may not be her sister, but she is mine. And I love her as such.
