Oh, Peter, my love, thief of my heart
Who lives second star to the right,
The one who takes my breath away
The reason my windows are open at night.
Your eyes are a sea of Forget-Me-Not's
Yet you are a boy that the world forgot
A laugh that echoes like pealing bells
And a brilliant smile of pale seashells
Your devious shadow is like a bottle of ink
That tipped over and keeps running away
(That's how I met you, at the foot of my bed)
As if using soap would make it stay!
Soft gentle lips that taste of sea salt,
And sun-baked skin like the sand on the shore.
A rhythmic heartbeat, like an Indian's drum,
You are all that I want and so much more
But I can't keep pretending; I have to grow up, and leave behind these childish dreams
Though I wish I could stay a lost girl forever, I must return to reality.
