I'm sorry for not being good enough, Mom
That I can't be the daughter you want me to be
For trying my hardest and still falling short
of the plans you have made for me.
My room is never clean enough,
My grades will never please you,
You treat me like a broken thing
and honestly I'm through.
I'm done with all your put downs
And the hurtful things you say
I'm done with your anger and bitterness
that haunts me everyday.
You said "I'm sorry" and "I will change"
But I know it's all a lie.
It seems as though I'm all alone
The only one willing to try.
Well, guess what, Mom?
This time you went too far
I know that nothing can save what we had
Not even a wishing star.
So I hope you're happy
All by yourself in what used to be our home
Where you'll spend the rest of your broken life
Unwanted and alone.
