And so like an evening down by the beach

I have watched the frigid waves of love

Flow on to someone else…

Built up with strength and passion

Only to crash against the rocky shore

To disappear forevermore.

But do my eyes gaze with content,

Or is there something more I feel?

Could it possibly be regret,

For the ones whose future I have sealed?

I don’t yet understand

The feelings that I get

Why I cannot comprehend

This aching in my heart

And why I cannot seem to control

The thoughts of a lost part

I kept locked inside my soul.

But I have come so hopelessly to realize

That memories can be tossed away

Into the ocean

Carried far to start a new beginning

By the waves that travel freely

Forever in a perpetual motion.
