A short poem inspired by the crow outside on the cherry tree that used to grow at my old house. Many things change and age as time goes on. Enjoy things as they are now.

Like the crow, a thief,

Snatching away the plump cherries in mid-spring

Piercing through the flesh before the fruit has a chance to ripen

Never to be appreciated for its ornamental beauty

The color like the rosy blush that used to sweep up your cheeks

Now replaced by dark circles and sagging lines.
