I never won anything,
no matter how hard I tried,
I sat sown and wondered why?
I felt hopeless,
Worthless,
Empty!
But, a competition came by,
I knew I could do it,
Didn't know how or why.
I felt thick,
Stupid,
Weak!
I tried and tried,
I found it hard
So, I asked my teacher,
She guided me through.
I felt so grateful,
Confident,
Determined!
I owed it to her!
The day came...
I was shaking!
I looked over to the back,
Miss was there,
I had support,
I felt happy,
Over-the-moon.
The end came,
I had failed:
Again!
The results were in,
And so were the nerves,
The words came out!
I had won, first place.
The joy,
I felt so proud,
So happy,
I finally achieved something,
I made my family proud,
Hopefully, my teacher too.
