MOTHER
You created, nurtured and loved me,
Your wisdom guided me through the dark night,
Your kindness and devotion has made me see
Why I am so happy and not in a plight.
You are the diamond in an ocean of tar,
The single rose surrounded by the thorn,
In the bleak, black heaven you're the sparkling star,
You are the glowing sun that appears at dawn.
I shall always value and cherish you,
You shall always be part of my life,
I will be your clown when you are feeling blue,
I will protect you from evil which is rife
Mother, you are a seraph from Paradise,
And like all saints you are without vice.
