You say when the flowers bloom in the springtime it causes little bumps to shiver up your spine. You say when the sun reflects on the lake it causes the hairs on the back of your neck to rise.
When that whisper brushes against my ear, soft and humid as the southern bayous, tickling my nerves like fingers on the piano…When those fingers cross mine, casual as a smile at a stranger, gentle as a jailmate…
Romance was never meant for me. And you satisfy yourself with stand-ins common enough to be purchased in a record store window.
