Do you remember when we were little girls and we played with barbie dolls?
Do you remember when we would chase the boys all 15 minutes of recess?
Do you remember when we were quite content to wear clothes that didn't match?
Do you remember when bathing suits didn't hold us back?
Running naked at the beach?
Do you remember when everything was so easy?
And I guess that I'm a little young to be reminiscing
And I guess that I'm a little young to be looking back
And I guess that I'm a little young, seeing as none of this was to long ago
But I know I'm not to young to understand how quickly time flies
In the blink of an eye, you just lost another moment
Do you remember when Greek Gods ruled the land, and the Spartans fought for power?
Do you remember when women would fight all men because they wanted a voice?
Do you remember when slavery was adamant on our own home land?
Do you remember when, it was only yesterday, history was replayed again and again?
Again and again.
And I guess that I'm a little young to be questioning the politics of all of it
And I guess that I'm a little young to understand just how war works
And I guess that I'm a little young, a little ignorant, a little naive
But I know I'm not to young to defend what I believe in
You look at me and you see what you want to see
But look again and you might see
A little girl who understands
A little girl who sees the flaws
A little girl who can save the world
