Lesson 9 Assignment:

The Climax:

The climax within a short story is the tension of what has happened. For example, someone has been wrongly accused of a crime, and the person who is responsible finally drops the bombshell that he was the culprit. Another example is when a husband or wife has cheated and their affair is finally exposed. A third and final example, is when a female character finds out that she is pregnant after having a drunken one night stand!
It is ideal for the climax to be near the end and get reader eager to read on. Due to climaxes in stories, authors then begin to write sequels. For example, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Twilight saga, Darren Shan's horror series.
