On an icy cold Monday morning in Jacksonvill, I was waiting patiently for the unmistakable yellow school bus to go to Spring Mineral Middle school. I just couldn't wait for the school year to end. Next Friday would be the last day I would ever see Mrs. Grozy. That teacher could give you a headache and a half from all the talking she does with her perky annoying voice. Could the morning go any slower.

As the bus pulled over to my bus stop I ran up the creaked steps and put on my cut up seat belt. Mostly all the students that ride the bus ignore the seat belt policy completely. I, on the other hand follow it like a good goody two shoes I am. Yes, I am a nerdy kid. I am also shy, and only talkative when my best friends Angie and Alex are around to do our silly chattering about cute popular guys, and how one day they might just share a glance or two at us.

As we approached school, since my stop is the last stop of the morning, the bus jolted to a complete stop. I was the only kid that didn't go flying out of their seats, which is a plus for me. Thanks nerdy me. As the bus driver started driving away from our school, I was completly dumbfounded. I didn't understand what was happening. Why were we leaving school? Weren't we suppose to arrive at school? Then I started to notice people jogging or more like running away from Spring Mineral Middle school. I didn't get it and I wanted to ask, but Mrs. Barbra was looking very pale and breaking out into major sweats. Tony (a small 8th grader) looked at me questionably. I just shrugged, not knowing what to say. Then Tony asked Mrs. Barbra '' Where are we going". Mrs. Barbra didn't say a word. She pointed to the cracked window. I glared at the window and didn't notice anything, but people screaming and running for the hills. Then as it caught my eye, just when I thought it was a large waterfall coming from somewhere, it came clear to me what I was viewing. There appeared a gigantic wave, reaching thousands of feet in the sky coming toward us this very second. I couldn't admit to what I was seeing. What was going to happen to my love ones? Worse what's going to happen to me? Mrs. Barbra shouted with so much volume "Buckle your seat belts. Now!" My stomach ached as soon as she stepped on the pedal fully on the gas and then beacuse of my nerves, I threw up.
